Baidu Maps announced full-scale open cooperation on lane-level map data.

Starting from May 1st, Baidu Maps has fully opened cooperation on lane-level map data (referred to as LD maps) for the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) industry. Baidu Maps’ LD Lite maps cover 360 prefecture-level cities and 3.6 million kilometers of highways and urban roads nationwide, having completed ADAS validation and fully autonomous driving validation for relevant automotive companies.

Based on the newly released LD maps, lane-level navigation products have been launched on the Baidu Maps app, available for download via major app stores to experience version 20 of Baidu Maps.

Earlier reports found on the website of the Ministry of Natural Resources revealed that Baidu Maps’ recent car navigation service “Baidu In-Car Maps” (T version), along with several “Advanced Driver Assistance Maps,” have received approval from the Ministry of Natural Resources. According to reports by First Financial Daily, an informed source stated that among the approved maps, the advanced driver assistance map identified as GS (2023) 4634, submitted by Baidu Smart Map Technology Co., Ltd., is the lane-level map completed through the cooperation between the two parties, Tesla and Baidu Maps. This cooperation is described as “exclusive” and deeply customized.
