On the occasion of the upcoming first anniversary of the commercial operation of the Chinese-made large aircraft C919, China Eastern Airlines has officially received its sixth C919, which is also the first aircraft of the newly ordered 100 C919s, bringing the total order to 105 aircraft.
The aircraft, with the registration number B-919G, has seen optimizations and upgrades in the cockpit display system and the in-flight entertainment system compared to the previously received and operated five aircraft.
It is expected that by the end of 2024, the scale of China Eastern Airlines’ C919 fleet will reach 10 aircraft, and the routes it operates will continue to be “refreshed.”
At the end of April, Air China, China Southern Airlines, and China Eastern Airlines announced in unison that they would each add an order of 100 C919s, which will be delivered between 2024 and 2031, with China Southern Airlines expected to receive its first aircraft in August.
In addition, Hainan Airlines has ordered 60 aircraft, with its subsidiaries, Golden Phoenix Airlines and Urumqi Airlines, each receiving 30 aircraft.
Data provided by COMAC shows that the list price of the C919 aircraft is 99 million US dollars, and the total order volume has far exceeded 1,000 units. The next step is to ramp up production capacity.
