Hyundai Motor and Baidu have officially joined hands to collaborate on intelligent connected vehicles and autonomous driving.

Hyundai and Kia signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Baidu on Saturday in Beijing regarding intelligent connected vehicles.

According to the agreement, Hyundai and Kia, along with Baidu, will jointly establish a new business ecosystem in the fields of intelligent connected vehicles, autonomous driving, intelligent transportation systems, cloud computing, and more.

Additionally, both parties have decided to develop regulatory compliance solutions utilizing Baidu Intelligent Cloud and plan to introduce new products, future projects, and new business models using artificial intelligence.

Hyundai stated that their goal is to manufacture and provide optimal mobility devices and solutions (SDx) for everyone’s use. They will strengthen their strategic cooperation with Baidu to create a Chinese intelligent connected vehicle ecosystem.

During the Guangzhou Auto Show, Yang Honghai, Chief Operating Officer of Kia China, mentioned that Kia is collaborating with leading Chinese tech companies like Baidu and Tencent to offer Chinese consumers a more tailored car experience.

To meet users’ demand for intelligence, Kia has partnered with Baidu’s Wenzhenyiyi to develop a new car system and has obtained an L4-level autonomous driving license in China, already commencing road tests.
