Prominent entrepreneur Yu Minhong, in his sixties, has been occupied with issuing apologies over the past six months.
Recently, Yu Minhong posted on Douyin to address the incident where he appeared to overshadow Dong Yuhui. He clarified, “Actually, I never had any plans to livestream in Henan.” Due to shortcomings in New Oriental’s work, misunderstandings arose, and he expressed his apologies for this.
This isn’t the only instance; ever since the small essay incident last year, Yu Minhong seems to have initiated a series of apologies. After apologizing to Dong Yuhui, he then apologized to Dong Yuhui’s fans. He apologized for internal management issues, for the amplification of public opinion, and even for blocking netizens.
Frequent apologies reflect Yu Minhong’s struggles with current internal enterprise management and core staff relationships. Times have changed, with the transition between new and old business models in enterprise operations. Yu Minhong, who built his success on traditional enterprises, has long passed his prime.
On the other hand, Dong Yuhui has risen from a live-streaming worker to a senior partner at Dongfang Selection, reaching the peak of his life at age 31. In response, Yu Minhong can only say, “When relying on talented employees to build business models and development, the boss is working for the employees.”
However, rather than willingly working for Dong Yuhui, Yu Minhong’s predicament largely reflects the relentless march of time, despite his efforts to adapt.
Compromise is Yu Minhong’s situation, while vibrancy characterizes Dong Yuhui’s.
