Beijing airport customs seized 57 bottles of parasites. The passenger claimed they were “for experimentation.”

Recently, during on-site supervision at the Beijing Daxing International Airport customs, customs officers detected an abnormal image in the luggage of a passenger. Upon inspection, a large quantity of parasites soaked in test tubes and bottles was found, totaling 57 bottles. The passenger claimed these were for experimentation.

According to laboratory identification, the parasites included Capillaria hepatica, Capillaria sinensis, Trichinella spiralis, Spirocerca lupi, and Raphidascaris chirocentri (currently no Chinese name).

Customs reminds travelers that according to the “List of Animals, Plants, and Other Quarantine Objects Prohibited from Being Carried or Mailed into China,” these items are not permitted to be brought into China without approval from the relevant administrative departments.
