On April 8th, Alibaba Cloud announced a price reduction across its services globally. This price reduction covers five major product categories and over 500 product specifications deployed across 13 regional nodes worldwide, with an average reduction of 23% and a maximum reduction of 59%.
The 13 regional nodes include Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Thailand, United States (East Coast and West Coast), Germany, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong (China).
The price reductions apply to five major product categories: computing, storage, networking, databases, and big data.
Highlights of the price reductions include:
- Up to 30% reduction on Elastic Compute Service (ECS)
- Up to 59% reduction on Elastic Block Storage (EBS)
- Up to 50% reduction on big data products
- Introduction of a new discount for Object Storage Service (OSS) with a package price reduced from $63 to $16.99, applicable for both new and existing customers
- Increase in free public network data transfer (Cloud Data Transfer, CDT) from 20GB/month to 200GB/month
- Up to 50% reduction on Relational Database Service (RDS)
The new prices are effective immediately and apply to both new and existing customers ordering through the Alibaba Cloud official website.
