A 5.6 magnitude earthquake has struck Myanmar.

According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, an earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude struck Myanmar at 20:45 on April 5th. The earthquake had a depth of 10 kilometers and its epicenter was located at approximately 26.41 degrees north latitude and 96.92 degrees east longitude, with the nearest distance to the border of China being around 148 kilometers.

Within a 200-kilometer radius of the epicenter, there are two major cities, with the closest being Myitkyina, located approximately 124 kilometers away from the epicenter. The average altitude within a 5-kilometer radius of the epicenter is approximately 264 meters.
